F A Q's
Here's some typical FAQ's and my best answers. Remember though that it is your body, your money, and most importantly your health at stake so should check out any shop and/or person carefully before deciding where and who the best person to do your work will be.
Does it hurt?
Hell yeah it hurts, some places more than others......ribs, for example, in my experience seem to invoke the most pain......the upper bicep and shoulder seem to be the least........a general rule of thumb is, the more meat the less pain......but everyone is different.
Is it Safe?
Typicly in a licensed shop yes, as long as all OSHA requirements are met, but don't assume that just because you see an autoclav sitting in the shop it is always used......nobody worth a shit will be offended by quetions, or you can go as far as to ask them to explain how you, the customer, would know if thier needles were really sterilized. Some packages have color changing ink on them that only change when steril, some have other devices, ask.....if your still unsure ask them to let you see them sterilize your needles and tubes (yes those need to be sterilized too) before they stick you......Hey if anyone pops you attitude, it's probably not the type of person you want sticking you anyways.........its your ass, how far would you go to keep it disease free??
Can I remove it later?
Yes and no.....yes with laser surgury, but it aint cheap....no, because the burning of the laser can leave a scar....there are a number of places in larger cities that will remove racial and gang related types of tattoos for little or no cost, deffinately worth the time to investigate futher to find out where and how much if thats what you need.
how expensive should this or that be?
Each shop/person charges not only for the size of that tattoo, but also for a number of other factors, amount of different colors used, time, replacement costs (needles, ink, sterilization costs, razors, tubes, bandages, gloves, alchohol, paper towels, vasoline, antisceptic, ink caps, etc. etc...) not to mention overhead, investment costs and so on......typicaly the bigger the more the cost, the more detailed (shading, numerous colors, various line thickness) the more the cost.....some places have a minimum price.....it all depends on a number of things, your best bet is to shop around and compare you've waited this long why not do the homework and get it done right.......just remember GOOD TATTOOS ARENT ALWAYS CHEAP AND CHEAP TATTOOS ARENT ALWAYS GOOD!!!!!!
Any other questions you have I'd be happy to answer for you.....just email me at [email protected] or fill out the boxes below, if I can't answer it, I'll point you to someone who can.
